What is Roundnet?

Roundnet is a simple 2-vs-2 game played around a small circular net.

Teams get up to three touches (think bump, set, spike) to bounce the ball off the net so the other team can’t return it.

Think of it like volleyball meets four-square — fast, social, and easy for beginners to learn.

Most students understand the basic rules within minutes and can begin playing right away.

Great for Multiple Grade Leverls

From Elementary to High School

Roundnet can be introduced in elementary PE classes and continue through middle and high school programs. The simple rules allow younger students to participate, while older students quickly develop strategy and competitive play. Use the progression method below to help younger & newer students learn to play

This makes it a great activity that grows with students over time.

Typical School Setup

Most PE classes run multiple games at the same time to keep students active.

A common setup for a class of 30–40 students might include:

  • 6-10 Premier Spike sets (play 2v2 or 3v3)
  • Additional balls for rotation

This allows teachers to organize small games or mini-tournaments within a class period.

A Fast-Growing Sport

Roundnet has grown rapidly across schools, clubs, and recreational programs.

Premier Spike proudly supports tournaments, clubs, and is the exclusive equipment provider for the 2026 Roundnet World Championships, helping introduce the game to new players around the world.

Many students first discover the sport through PE classes and continue playing recreationally for years.

We have used other versions of roundnet but found Premier Spike brand to be far more durable and longer lasting than other brands on the market today. This is the perfect version to use for high use situations like schools.

Experience has taught me that not all physical education equipment is created equal. But Premier Spike's quality is unmatched, and it has become a great asset in our physical education program. Its durability is a testament to its superior design and construction. This robustness ensures that we can enjoy the game year after year, without worrying about frequent replacements. This is really valuable in a PE class setting where there is high use and the funding is low.

The designers of Premier Spike have truly thought of everything. The product is quick and easy to assemble and disassemble, saving us valuable class time. Moreover, the feet double as storage for the balls—a small but significant detail that adds to its convenience.

We've taught roundnet in our PE classes the past 2 years, and it's been a great addition getting students engaged that normally just sit on the side and watch.

We started using Premier Spike sets in 2023 and it makes such a difference! They are so easy to set up, the ball holders keeps extra balls from rolling all around the gym, and we didn't have to replace any parts from breaking! Normally we would break 2-3 Spikeball rims playing in every class period for a week, so using Premier Spike has saved us time, hassle, and money!
